EXECUTIVE OFFICERS
Gordon Melton, President/Treasurer
United States Air Force
96th Civil Engineering Squadron
1989-1992
Gordon Melton is the Creator and President of Hunting with Soldiers.
Gordon is a 100% Service Connected Disabled Veteran. He created Hunting with Soldiers in 2007 after a tragic incident which affected him mentally while serving on the Volunteer Fire Department in Paducah, TX. Prior to this incident, Gordon had been wanting to do something for the Veterans who had been to war, to help them with the mental trauma. He was not sure what he wanted to do but after this incident, he was setting in the deer blind just watching the animals. He realized that a peace had come over him and how much it helped. That is where the idea of Hunting with Soldiers was created.
Not only does Gordon serve the Veterans, he also, as stated above, served as a Volunteer Fireman for his Community. He also served his community as City Councilman for 3 years then Mayor for 7 years.
He is no longer on the Volunteer Fire Department or in City Politics, but has dedicated his life to helping Combat Veterans of all wars through Hunting with Soldiers.

Hello, my name is Buckey Lobdell. I was raised in Lander, Wyoming, and resided there for the majority of my life. In 2009, I decided to leave my hometown to pursue a career as a wheeled mechanic in the Army. Since being in the Army, I have been deployed twice. I am currently stationed in Fort Hood, Texas with my wife, daughter, and two dogs. I have been very active with Hunting with Soldiers, and recently I have become the secretary of the organization. I have a great passion and gusto for the outdoors; fishing, hunting, hiking, you name it and I’m there. My family and the outdoors is what keeps me going!
Gregory Pond, Sergeant at Arms

I work in the Oil & Gas Industry as a QHSE Manager for a Oil & Gas Equipment Manufacturing Company. I have been in this position sense October 2018. Prior to that I spent 20 plus years as HSE Officer offshore and Shore Based Rotating HSE Manager overseas.
I enjoy being part my community as a Volunteer Fire fighter and being part of HWS. Both are very rewarding. I have co-sponsored a hunt at the Texas Divide Ranch for the last 6 years the weekend between CHRISTmas and New Year’s. This hunt gets stronger every year.
I hope to be able to contribute to HWS program in every way possible for years to come. Now that I’m back in USA 24/7, I can get more involved with HwS mission.
