Hunting with Soldiers is hosting 14 Combat Veterans for our annual Port Aransas fishing trip. Due to the space we have available in the Condos, only 4 will be able to bring their Spouse, boyfriend, or girlfriend, etc. So that means 4 couples and 10 individual Veterans. In the application provided, it will ask if you are applying as a couple or individual. If you are applying as a couple, it will give the option to advise that you are willing to come as a single if the couples section is filled. If you apply as a couple, and you are chosen, if your spouse/boyfriend/girlfriend, etc. cancels, then that means that both you and your other half cancel and we will choose another couple from the reserve list. (If you applied as a couple, but you checked that you are willing to come as a single, and you were chosen as a single, your application will still be in the reserve list for the couples.). Arrival is Friday, April 26 and departure is Sunday April 28. The 12 hour Fishing trip will be on April 27th. Only the Friday evening and Saturday evening Meals are provided. Please note that only meals and non alcoholic drinks are provided. Appetizers and alcoholic drinks are up to the Veteran at their own expense. Housing is also provided (It is up to you to get to the location). Please note that each Condo only has one bathroom for all to use in that condo. Veteran only needs to bring a couple or more ice chests for their fish, knives for cleaning their fish (If they do not want to take it to the fish cleaning area that charges a small fee per pound which is cash only and up to the Veteran to pay for), & fishing gear if you wish to fish other than just on the boat (fishing gear and bait is supplied on the boat). There is no food or drinks allowed on the boat. All must be purchased on the boat at the Veterans expense and they only take cash. This will be a 12 hour deep sea fishing trip taking place on the 27th. If chosen, and you have never been on a boat, other than on the lake, you may want to check with your Dr. and get the patch to put behind your ear for sea sickness. You must have and show proof of a valid Texas Fishing License with the Salt Water Endorsement on it. Due to the place we are staying, NO PETS (Including Service Dogs). This will be a trip to enjoy so please do not feel like you have to go on the boat. If anyone feels they just want to hang out, but do not want to go on the 12 hour fishing trip part, they need to let us know (if they are chosen) so we do not purchase that spot.

If you are chosen, and you are on the Reserve List for another trip, please advise after you are chosen. Person chosen must send copy of DD214, or if still Active Duty, the form showing you have been to combat to huntingwithsoldiers@live.com (if you have been on a previous hunting trip with us and you had already sent this information, please disregard). Any information found to be inaccurate or incomplete will result in the removal of the application and removal from HwS activities. No illegal substances will be allowed on or around the property. If you can not do without it, then do not apply.
